2018 in pictures part one

Here's a highly edited view of the best of the year, a year that like all had its ups and downs but apparently we are going to make it through alive...

First one of these we ever saw...

My one and only orphaned golf ball of the year, in February

One of about a million squirrels...

In April, we learned Coke Zero grows on trees...

Got to watch Aaron play ball a few times.

I had to cut down his leashless walks do to the water obsession...

We only made it to The Spot once...

And this is the only fox we saw all year- a dead one Scrappy found

One of my faves- two deer at the pond

Of course, the highlight of the year is watching this guy get bigger

The first of two zoo trips was on my birthday...

...and the next day was Happy Boofus Day, with trips to Shoaff Park and Culvers.

We met all kind of funny critters...

...including this fuzzy depiction of what we first thought was an odd-acting skunk, but was actually two squirrels playing- one jet black, one normal but with an all-white tail.

June kicked off with me finding 2 four-leaf clovers in 10 minutes!

...and bigger...

So hot, and with Scrappy not feeling good, I began to wonder how long he'd last- but he's still here!

---I like having you post this.
It's refreshing to see that the world DOES behave itself from time to time.
---Peanut getting bigger...and louder? Just wondering (heh).
---The only black squirrel I've even seen were up in CANADA (you find another illegal here?
---Hard to believe that you only found one (dead) fox all year.
I recall you having pics of several the year before.
---TWO 4-leaf clovers in TEN minutes?
Man, that is astounding. I've yet to find ANY on our lawns.
    You MUST be living right.

    Very good post.
    (waiting for pt 2)

    Stay safe up there, brother.

    1. Usually the black squirrels tend farther north of us. Butler used to have a ton of 'em. I don't see one here but about every third year.

Clover: Yup, found the first, called Laurie. Hung up, looked down, called back- "You aren't gonna believe this, but..."

    1. Well, it was a "wartless" year in review." Choosing not to focus on the bad.
