The example you cite from the bible is probably the best demonstration of this, and not nearly as long-lived as the trials that befell the tribes of Israel during all the troubles they endured.
(and are still dealing with)
Very good call.

Stay safe up there, brother.Bob G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09222203353717749897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5822869016413307981.post-76659472013404939222016-04-03T18:48:14.168-04:002016-04-03T18:48:14.168-04:00Another interesting post Another interesting post Jo-Anne's Ramblingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11418152399382818709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5822869016413307981.post-40791659144496424872016-04-03T16:49:14.119-04:002016-04-03T16:49:14.119-04:00I feel like I've been all of these people at o...I feel like I've been all of these people at one time or another. Life is a strange, strange thing.

Whenever I have very real difficulty in forgiving myself... 1) Have I asked God for forgiveness? 2) Do I believe He has granted forgiveness? If my gut is saying "NO" to that one, I have to dig deep. God never says "NO," so it's really just me... again. 3) Once I'm reconciled with God's forgiveness than it becomes, "Who am I to withhold forgiveness when God has already granted it!!!"

Bottom line: When we get used to lugging a rock (garbage) around, we don't let go easily. We like our stuff. Plain and simple. Even when it hurts. Maybe, especially when it hurts.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14932408372240147454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5822869016413307981.post-33182402267652943112016-04-03T11:49:45.391-04:002016-04-03T11:49:45.391-04:00Thank you for this, Chris. I shared your comments ...Thank you for this, Chris. I shared your comments on my blog with Devin and it warmed his heart. It really meant a lot to him and he said it gave him a renewed hope that there are others out there just like you. And he's right, there are more people like you than not. We must remember to humble ourselves and to always walk with humility. We have no idea what inner battles other people are facing - including the people who made those comments at the church. It is an opportunity to educate.

You also made a great point about being able to forgive yourself; that was something I had to do along the way and it was so hard. I had lost myself and it wasn't until I turned back to God and found my faith that I forgave myself and loved myself again. Thanks again for sharing our story.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
