Pictures

You get this past week's pictures today, as I had something far more important to post yesterday- as I hope you saw.

A week ago Sunday...

Once the race got to frustration level

Ah, relaxing!  On to Monday evening...

The view from Mushroom ridge

Wow, actual water in South Canal

Misty insists we check a new dirt pile for varmints

"Okay... seems clean..."

Uh-oh, someone closed the dam upstream...

You can't imagine the devastation on Misty's face as she couldn't get to go swimming...

(Comment unprintable)

Ducks and Killdeer didn't mind...

This dog, right down to the harness, looked JUST like a younger Misty...

Next up, Thursday afternoon, after an early go-home...

Spotted her from in the complex, before even making the trail

Colors getting ever brighter

There she goes

"Ah, now here I can swim!"

And so she did, enjoying the dropoff that let her get deeper than usual

Found a clam

Wet doggie

Your something unusual for this walk- dude riding an electric scooter through the grass.  He asked us, "Is it always this dry?"  Just wait, plenty of rain for the weekend

Misty bound and determined to find a spot where the water is close

"Crap... no luck!"

Friday dark and early, after some rain that night...

Only wildlife around

Well, almost only

Suddenly we get a call from Mommy, asking if we remembered her Dr's appointment in 40 minutes.  I remembered- but didn't remember the TIME....

So we rush to meet Mommy after giving her exact directions to pick us up...

Out here, by the hotel.

tick, tick, tick...

"I think Mommy took a wrong turn!"

Nevertheless, we made the appointment, Misty got her shot, rain came, and Saturday wasn't quite as early...

Hmm... another event?

Looks like...

Ah.  A marathon....

Actually, we met up with an organizer, who told us it was a half-marathon... the "Hot Cider Hustle", a 5-K and half-marathon.  They started at the Coliseum, and if you weren't doing the whole thing, you turned around here, just south of the barn.  If you went the whole way, you would go clear through Becketts Run to Concordia and turn around.

We went up and across the cricket field to avoid them...

...but as Darrel Waltrip used to say, I think they created a vortex.  It got really windy and quite chilly....

At last, we said goodbye to the runners...

...the sun crested the low clouds, the wind died, and things warmed up

Alumni Center getting their autumn on...

The sky turned blue, and all was beautiful!

"Buddy, that was a bad spot to lose yer frisbee..."

Kitty watching as we returned
