Zoo trip 2013

This was actually a birthday trip for a little girl, and thus, the pics you see will be more concerned with two-legged little critters than four.  Shall we meet our cast of characters?

Of course, Laurie gets the "lead guest-star" role, as the kids are grandchildren of her sister Mary.

Our stars, left-to-right:  Grandma Mary, mom Katie with youngest critter Lizzy, birthday girl Sierra, mom's friend Ron, oldest critter Jackson.

Grandpa Jack with the stroller duo.

Checking out the monkeys.

Not sure of the photog yet.

Auntie Rachel and friend.

Chipmunk checking the sea-lion-feeding crowd for goodies.

Ride 'em, Sierra!

Cowboy Jackson.

Jackson vs. the mastodon.

Tiger fight!

Laurie:  Gibbons!  Me:  His name is Euell.  Laurie:  Euell?  Me: Yeah, Euell Gibbon. You youngsters might have to look that one up.

Gimme that camera!

Home on the range.

What's gnu?

Can't you people find a better time to take pictures?  I'm trying to sleep!

Lioness yawns.  Sierra roars.

Banded mongoose.

Hey!  That squirrel's a freeloader!

Hey!  That bunny's a freeloader!

The bongo trio

"...let me play my saiga..."
