Early evening woods walk |
Original pic had glowing eye and near invisible chipmunk. |
Afternoon walk today, tried to get a good shot of this beautiful Bunting, but SOMEBODY was yanking his change... |
First odd fungus of the season... looked just like dead leaves... |
Ladybug, ladybug... |
Damselfly.. |
I don't know what these are, but they're pretty cool. |
Cottonwood fuzz on the river |
In the puddle with the cottonwood fuzz |
Saw a bunch of ground hogs... at least I did. I let him off the leash once, but he was too tuckered to build much momentum. |
This little guy, cute as a button, was the highlight. Barely moved, even to the point that Scrappy was about six feet away... AND LOOKING THE OTHER WAY. Then, he just turned and calmly waddled away. |
We are getting the fuzz too.
ReplyDeleteBetter on the river than in my nose... wait, got that too.
DeleteYou're a great storyteller just through your pictures. I love all the critters!
ReplyDeleteWish there were more of them... this neighborhood has "gone quiet" as more people jog and run in the area.
DeleteI love how you see and enjoy all the beauty in your walks. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI wish I could print it as I see it...
DeleteYou have the best wildlife in your area. Love the ground hogs.
ReplyDeleteSo does Scrappy... but I don't think it means the same to him.
DeleteChris:
ReplyDeleteDang...you got an indigo BUNTING up there...very cool.
I KNOW that one pic of you at an ANGLE is not referencing anything close to "mountainous terrain"...heh.
Haven;t seen that many ladybugs here...that's odd.
Such a wonderful (and relatively untouched) area.
I can only shivver when I think of hos MUCH of that will be lost when the city starts the...
(cue the Empire Strikes Back theme)...
"Riverfront Project"
We've all got to get out to Eagle Marsh sometime...we'd have a blast...and lots to blog about.
Very nice walkabout.
Stay safe up there, brother.
Well, it is a tiny bit hilly...
DeleteGreat day for a walk! Loved the pics. We don't have groundhogs in Florida. I miss seeing them. They are soooo cute.
ReplyDeleteThey'd have to be sand hogs down there, lol.
DeleteOh what a novel
ReplyDeleteMy mum really liked the card you sent to Nan, thank you for that
It was my pleasure.
DeleteWow - that was a whole series of novels. It's so beautifully green, and that groundhog was being awfully social. Great photos, CW. But who's that suspicious looking man? J/K. Good to see you in them too.
ReplyDeleteThat... was the Lone Ranger...
DeleteChris, that was the FUNNIEST blog post opening line ever :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the "book."
Rock on with your bad self!!
I don't know about that.. you should follow Mich!
DeletePeace...tranquility....
ReplyDeleteI'd buy that book.
Comes with complimentary dog.
DeleteSo pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteFancy looking birds have magic powers when it comes to avoiding photographs.
I looooove the photo of the fuzzies on the river, it looks like the water is glittering.
Which is good, because my pics of the water glittering never come out that good.
