MWN: Mixed up pics

All right, I'm flying blind here, hoping I find good stuff that we can all laugh at.  To those of you just passing by, this is the post where I go to the front page of news sites and pick a picture and a headline that isn't quite the one that went with it, in hopes that I might fool someone into thinking it's funny.  If it doesn't work, I might just leave in my spelling miscues instead (Like just spelling "it's" ti;).

1- FoxNews

The headline....

University nixes ‘West Side Story’ after white students landed lead roles

It was even better with the graphic "What's the story" attached to the picture...

The headline...

Prospective names for the planetoid include "MegaCholesterol18"....

3- BBC

I regret to say that the BBC had several promising headlines, but no good pictures to go with them.  I may come back to this...

4- Moscow Times

The picture (and don't ask me to explain)...

The headline...

More Than 150 Russian Sailors Have Been Stranded in Ports Worldwide

Thank God they have something to drink, at least....

But  he really believes the tea and crumpets will help...

6- Xinhua again

And here special guest Novak Djokovic makes a tennis ball appear out of thin air!

7- The Copenhagen Post

The headline...

Shared bandages too, apparently...

8- Telegraph online

The headline...

Boris Johnson: My plan for a better Brexit

"And the girls come with it, lads!"

In the meantime, the BBC front page changed ever so slightly, so...

9- BBC

The headline...

Which tells you all you need to know about the current state of British government....

How I survived a month without social media

Now there's a headline that makes sense...

  1. Chris:
    1) Not the same w/o Natalie Wood.
    2) It sure LOOKS like that sandwich has it's OWN gravitational field.
    3) (leave it to the BBC to muck things up)
    4) OR, Salvador Dali IS still alive!
    5) Probably the SMALLEST kiosk I've seen yet.
    6) HEH!
    7) Just plain LOL.
    8) That's one PO'ed BMW (but the girls may be worth it)
    9) That's brilliant! (and most likely quite true)
    10) ROFL...and so say we ALL.

    Excellent post.

Stay safe (and humorous) up there, brother.
(now, get thee back watching DW)

  2. Social media is great for news headlines that don't match the stories. Or those with one sentence 40 pages of click next and you're on page 39 and nothing in headline is remarkably close to what you've read. Great call out on the obvious. BTW that heart attack burger looks delicious. My cholesterol went up just seeing the picture! :) Have a great weekend.
