With a Saturday Morning walk...
Start- 6:45 AM
"Red skies in morning, sailor take warning..." and it worked
It was still dark enough that the camera wanted to have the fuzzies on most of the early pics- including the only bunny of the walk
Hmm.. an event going on (More details later)
Only one deer in the 'usual spot'...
Last time we went out (no camera), there were 3 deer standing in the middle of the road here
Found: dead mole...
Well, weren't you supped to post up top? #Bloggerfail
And here, last time, we found that some idiots had bludgeoned a snapper to death with chunks of asphalt...
Someone INSISTED we take the bridge to PFW
I'm skeptical about the whole thing. Pleasant now, but soon to get hot. Misty says, "Nay! Forge on!"
"Hey! Here comes that dog and its person!"
"I know! Ive been dodging them all morning!"
"Scoundrels and cads!"
I ask Misty to turn around FIRMLY here. She grumblingly complies.
BIG event. Already have traffic directors.
Hmm... more than one event...
Lots of Mexicans carrying stuff to the far north field...
Goldy standing guard at the main crossing.
They even built this gargantuan thing, along with more tents. You could hear the music clearly even in the house.
And Kitty taking a pose.
Now to finish this part of the story: Maybe an hour later we had a mild rain which probably didn't disrupt things too much, followed by a good thunderstorm that may have. And that night, grandkids descend...
She was on her VERY best behavior!
Granma hauling contraband
The blur in Grayson's hand is a swinging T-Rex
Isaiah and I had a long, serious talk on dinosaurs
Of course, beer was required
That brings us to Sunday...7:36 AM, about 2 1/2 hours after another nice thunderstorm...
As you can see, a lot different morning (95% humidity)
Pretty much just us this time
It was a bit hazy by the Swamp. You might even say it was...misty...
First peak of blue skies
...and the sun
Hmm? |
Ah, so this was the first event, the first tents I showed you. The Mexican deal was put on by the FW United Soccer club, apparently.
All we saw in the 'dark and foreboding wood' was two black squirrels at either end (which of course the camera refused to focus on) and a pair of brown flashes as Chipmunks dashed by
Glad to see her drinking holes refilled
Watching this house warily- a couple of times back, a chihuahua tried to pick a fight here
And finally, the day's only kitty.
A vacation sounds good and all the photos brightened my morning
