The post of lists

So Sunday I saw this article that put Fort Wayne in the top ten (actually 6th) in the nation for how much square footage you can get to rent for $1500.  Now, our apartment will be at next cycle costing us pretty close to the city average ($1077 for 893 SF), so this is certainly no complaint (at least none not cost-of-living based.  That same $1,500 in New York city would get us approximately 3/4ths of our current living/dining room.  This whole thing made me wonder what other Fort Wayne lists I could dig up...

In 2019, we were the 93rd best place to live in the US according to Livibility dot com... Didn't seem to make it in their last list, though...

We were 48th once again in the Orkin "rattiest cities" list...

We made #1 on Hippo dot com's list of "best cities to buy a second home in"...

Apparently we were once seventh on Hitler's list of US cities to bomb... I know they used to say we were on the USSR's nuke list too, until International Harvester went belly-up...

We are the 18th best city to work remotely in... Which is good, because a lot of us work pretty remotely...

The BestPlaces dot com site chips in with us being #30 in Best for crime(2002), #40 for 'migraine hot spots'(2006), and a glorious 295th for best green city(2007).  And that was before the disc golfers started littering up my woods!

WalletHub named us 100th and last on their 2022 list for recreation. Of course, their #1 was Vegas, so that tells you their take on "recreation"...

Incidentally, Livibility also named us the #4 minor-league sports city.  Might make it to three with the traitorous Mad Ants moving to Noblesville....

Rocket Mortgage says we're the top promising city to invest in real estate in...

A post on linkedin dot com from Mayoral candidate Tom Didier claims us (in 2020) #3 best run city (kinda puts a dent in your challenge to Mayor Henry, don't it?), #2 cheapest cost of living (yeah, try that one now), #15 hottest real estate market, #74 hottest job market, top 5 in best water and top 20 in best for college graduates, and top 10 for most affordable for early retirement....

MoneyTalks dot com puts us 7th cheapest place to live...

In 2018 we were the 20th best city to celebrate St Patricks Day in...

Despite our poor recreational standing, SmartAsset named us the 5th best city to be a golfer in...

WalletHub (you know, the guys that trashed our recreation?) named us 19th best to be vegan in...

Somehow, we got 3rd best to be a veteran in...

How about a #2 for "Places to look into before moving to Boise..."

And finally- seriously- LawnStarter dot com named us 3rd-worst for gardening in the nude.  THAT I can see!

And... perhaps would rather not...
