M10 kinda show # 140

Y'all wanna explain 'kinda'?

Yeah, this was a bad week, and my back wasn't up to sitting down long enough to figure out an M10... and right now, I'm going down the list, and thanks to giving Misty a walk which aggravated things (but since it was going to rain in the morning...)

Aw, what a good daddy!

At any rate, I am only 10 or so songs down a 35 song shuffle, and I'm not at all convinced my back is gonna hold up long enough to get this done.  So I'm gamely going to try to do everything else... and maybe...

(Chris pauses to sit on the vibe platform.  May or may not have helped the back, definitely made me have to go pee...)

Okay, so we are targeting our birth year of 1962 this week- and to no great surprise, the #1 song this week is...

...the Monster Mash, in it's original run!  Having just knocked- the sacrilege of it!  -Sherry by the Four Seasons from the top, it also topped the Canadian charts this time around, but was only a #27 in Australia.  Let me take a look around and see what our big movers for the week, while illuminatti hotties play Sleeping In in my background...

5- Limbo Rock, Chubby Checker.  Moving 10 to #26 this week, it was #1 on Cashbox, 7 in Canada and 8 in Australia.

4- Sue Thompson's novelty hit James (Hold The Ladder Steady).  Up 11 to #39, it would fade out at 22 here, 16 in Canada- but top tenned in Australia at #6!

3- Gina, Johnny Mathis.  I didn't know this, so I'm listening now, very pretty!  Up 12 to #18, it would #8 here, #76 in Australia, 25 in Canada.

2-I Was Such A Fool (To Fall In Love With You), Connie Francis. Another unknown for me, it died off at 18 here, 32 in Canada, and MIA in Australia.

And top mover- up 26 big to #21:

...Neil Sedaka and Right Next Door To An Angel!  Quite to my shock, CB only took it to 10 (Billboard to #5), Canada had it at 5, and Australia to #45.

Well, that's 22 of the 35... Mebbe I should do a number...

Nah, just tell a joke while I take Misty to the little doggie's room...

Yeah, I remember the last time you did a thing on Elvis jokes, I'll just sit here an' behave... So like what are ya takin' for yer favorite this week?

AHEM... Sherry...

Oh, yeah, dumb question.

SEVERAL MINUTES LATER...

Zzzzzhmmgh.. Are we there yet?

Three songs after this one... Then I'll put it up as I write them forever in the Book of Love...

Do you have it mostly worked out?

Top five is like a juggling fight between two penguins, to be honest...

Crap.  I'm going for coffee.  You need a new pop?

I'm good, thanks...

APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES LATER...

All right, here you go... the debut at #10.  This one is one of our alphabet songs, and was done for the singer's aunt ( a schizophrenic) and sister (bipolar).  From 2014, this is Nothing More with Jenny...(Note: actual song ends around 4:45, stats on suicide follow)

*****************************************

Yow...

Yeah... and on a happier note, new stuff from the Tragically Hip, Wait So Long, at #9...

************************************************

Okay, my Bible study on X is getting started, so let's hit the rest of the ten fast:

8- Aaron Shust up one with Ever Be.
7- And holding, the Go Betweens and Streets Of Your Town.
6- Dropping 4, illuminati hotties must have been Sleeping In.
5- And holding, Leon Bridges and That's What I Love.
4- From the top, Linkin Park and The Emptiness Machine.
3- Geowulf up one with Nightmare.
2- Also up one, the Honeycutters and Jukebox. That makes four "alphabet songs" in the top 10.

And #1- I don't even have to change the picture...

...Up 5 for Linkin Park, Heavy Is The Crown!  WHEEEE!!!! We did it!  (High fives all around!)

  1. I hope your back feels better soon! The late Gord Downie is revered here, and it was good to hear a previously unreleased song from The Hip. While not a huge fan of their music, I liked this one! ☺
