What is it about nice people that attract total idiots?Nice people are martyrs. Idiots are evangelists.

My last campaign speech

So here we are.  No more need to establish our positions or cry about our sacred cows, because either you have voted, you're about to and know who you're voting for, or you don't give crap, and all are equally okay at this point.  No more need to post memes, unless they are truly, truly funny...

...instead, I thought perhaps we should sit back, reflect, and think about what the world will be like tomorrow.

The sun will rise...

Lovers will love....

Birds will sing...

Animals will go about their business....

And the faithful will give thanks, because God is still in His Heaven, and their salvation is still assured.  And no voting machine can take any of that away.

So let's all pull in our claws.  What's done is done. (or soon will be...)  It's time we gave up all the...

And got back to...

Whatsay?

  2. Chris:
--Count me with that "last group"...but I have my reasons.
--As to the state of the world on the morrow?
I DEFINITELY agree with that LAST one (okay, and the critters...that's two)
Let's just get this crap OVER with, 'K?
    Nice call on your part.

    Stay safe up there, brother.

  3. Amen, brother. I'm looking forward to a peaceful weekend. Providing our country doesn't look like something from Mad Max.

  4. Best thing I have read all day. You guys might not have realised that we got constant US elections updates all day here in Australia.
It will certainly go down as a moment in history

    1. Thanks. Without going into my personal elation, let me just say it will be good to not hear 24/7 attack ads anymore.

  5. You know what? It's fine. Regardless of who won, nothing will change. If Clinton had won, the current regime would remain and the GOP would continue to block her. And now, Trump will continue to be Trump, the Democrat who flipped Rep when it suited him, who says something on camera or in print and then later denies it. He won't do any of the things he said he would.... just like every other frigging candidate we've ever had. So why all the sadness and anger?

It's just the same sh!t on a different day.

And that's why I sit today... on the computer looking for a nice vacation spot... to vacation at, not live in, because this is my country. And that won't change.

    1. I get ya. What I don't get is all the spite-filled Hollywood losers acting as if the world was diving into the sun for four years. All of my liberal friends have been real cool about things, and I'm not about to stir em up. Like I said on FB, Trump's the target now... (wrings hands, chuckles deeply)

  6. I am a little worried...I hear no birds singing....I see no lovers loving....and my cat is nowhere to be found.

    Crap.

Oh, there he is, sleeping on the couch.

    Maybe you're right....

  7. I read an article this morning (and instantly regretted it) that said Stephen King was "literally"* shutting down and couldn't write any more books or post any more funny pictures on his Twitter as a result of last night's election. Not kidding.

*which automatically invalidated its legitimacy as an article

How will I continue living without Stephen King's 387th book being published? Or without him posting another hilarious cat picture I already saw 2 years ago? Oh wait, that's right, the sun is still shining and the earth is still spinning, and everything's gonna be fine (those big-ass babies).

    1. He could always re-write the middle 650 pages of The Tommyknockers. It was an incoherent waste of time back then, I'm sure he could rise up mightily in his heartbroken state and do that again. Just to get back into practice, y'know.

    2. I am amused by all the "not my president" protests...wow, really? Talk about sore losers!

Now I wish I'd protested the last two elections...

And I guess I am sexist (did not vote for Clinton) as well as racist (did not vote for Obama twice).

  9. Well, I say I want very much what you expressed in your post. Unfortunately, that's not what I'm experiencing in my newsfeed so I've once again had to unplug from Facebook for awhile. I figure it'll be safe around Thanksgiving. That's my hope anyway.
