My new plan

I just love meme making, don't you?  Point here being, I think I am over responding to people who run through live with fingers in their ears yelling, "Trump is Hitler!  God is Evil!"  So I have a response that I am going to use from now on.  As a matter of fact, I may make it a semi-monthly award thing for the internet post or media story that goes the farthest against common sense and moral decency.  And I will show you that... in a bit.  But now, onto more pleasant things.

I had to spend a good deal of time today forcing unpleasantness into its proper spot in my mind- the "this is insignificant, move on" box.  And believe it or not, none of it had to do with the Steenkin' Pats winning another Super Bowl.  I have come to accept if other teams don't want to be smart enough to load up on talent nobody else sees (ie Hogan and Mitchell) or wants (ie Amendola and Bennett), then I guess they'd rather the Pats win every year.

Hey Dad... I found Stephen Ross' head...

No, most of it wrapped around a motor in my cutter that is going out and causing the machine to stop at random points from which I have to start over.  Our great maintenance guy (who btw is by no fault of his own not trained on such a machine) was working on it as I tried to make a prototype needed "hot" *.  The cut stopped three times- once when one of us kicked an e-stop by accident- and the last panel had an unmarked but clearly visible flaw and had to be re-cut.  And ten minutes after it was cut, we found that a front office boo-boo gave me the wrong color to cut.

(*Chris' definition of hot, written on my whiteboard:  1- It's only hot if Plant Mgr says it's hot. 2- If PM says too many are hot, they become lukewarm.)

To calm myself down, I relied on a philosophical epiphany I had the other day.  One day we will stand at the judgment seat, and the important things will be judged- and the piffles will be forgotten.  This is a piffle. Move on.

And so I moved on home, where I got an e-mail that my next Doctor's appointment is Wednesday.  Despite it hanging above the computer monitor at eye level for the last 6 months, I forgot all about it.  Kinda gonna make it hard to get that "week before blood work" done.  To say nothing of the colonoscopy appointment I've yet to make.  Needless to say, I called to have it moved back.

And, throw in that as we started doing Laurie's taxes, we discovered that Wal-Mart halved her federal withholding without any reason.  And Wal-Mart being Wal-Mart, the only time you can go in and talk to someone about such an issue is WHEN YOU ARE ON THE CLOCK.

So by the time I get home to see which liberal mental deficiency my FB friends are highlighting today, I found I really didn't want to play anymore.  Let them call a travel suspension that affects 7 Muslim nations out of 50 a Muslim ban.  Let them tell us that it is morally reprehensible to tell a woman that there might be a moral problem with baby murder.  Let them tell me that it is President Trump who is causing the deterioration of respect for what we laughingly call the news media.  The other day, I found the perfect answer to all of them on FB- and it would seem that FB pulled it off the scene, as I couldn't find it there the next day.  But they haven't got it off of YouTube yet... (You have to have the speakers on for this btw)

  1. Chris:
Seems like you're having a "BOB" week there.
---I have to laugh at the insanity called "the job"...and I'm laughing at the asshats who do NOT know their butts from holes in the (production) ground..
---As for the taxes thing...WHY W/M chose to deduct HALF the withholding amount makes NO sense to me (and I used to work for the IRS.
I don't think that's allowed. By law THEY have to take out the PROPER amount because even THEY have to answer to the IRS.
Helluva way to "pad the profits".
    ---Colonoscopy, huh?
(about as much fun as a prostate exam)
    ---LOVE the "I DON'T GIVE A FUCK" intro...classic!
---And yes memes can be SO much fun to create.
(when you decide on that award, lemme know, so I can get to work and create an appropriate picture file.)

    Hang in there...it's ONLY Tuesday.
    (I HAD to remind myself...cripes)

    Stay safe up there, brother.

  3. This liberal is chagrin that there are some people who continue to profess the veracity of Trump lies despite objective, documented, verifiable factual evidence to the contrary.
I guess an alternate reality comes with alternative facts.

    1. Point out the lie, let's discuss. My problem isn't with people who can speak and defend their points, it's with those who post a position they can't defend and then insult you when you ask them to defend it. I have said here before, I wouldn't have been a Trump voter had it not been for Hillary, but I have few problems with what he's done so far. But people that compare him to Hitler really piss me off. I don't like revisionist historians.

    2. Listen and read, just one of the many mistruths of DJT:

    3. Okay, so if I wasn't so busy defending myself against charges of racism, etc, one of the things I would have taken up is that Trump has a tendency to "write checks with his mouth his wallet can't cash." I kinda feel for Spicer having to wade through some of this. If Trump would have stayed with that last quote CNN used, he'd have been okay. Listing things that can be easily disproven is hardly a stroke of genius. Frankly, I would have went with the undercoverage in the States of how the refugees are acting- and how people feel about them- in Europe.

  4. In regards to a comparison of DJT with Hitler, I wonder how Donald Trump ever gained the insight of speechmaking.
Could it be that his ex-wife, Ivana, was being truthful in the allegation she made that Donald Trump kept a book of Hitler's speeches near his bed?
ref: Donald Trump's ex-wife once said Trump kept a book of Hitler's speeches by his bed

    1. Point number one: Having not read Hitler's polemics, I can't comment except vaguely, other than, if a smart politician wanted to learn tips on making speeches that get people going, he could do worse than looking into Adolph Hitler.

      THAT SAID...

It's a long leap from researching Hitler's speeches to putting "sub-humans" in death camps, yes?

Point three, a brief quote from Snopes:

This isn't the first time that Trump has been compared, either mockingly or in earnest, to Adolf Hitler. In March 2016, several people on social media claimed that Trump stole his "Make America Great Again" slogan from the German dictator. While Trump and Hitler both voiced the (common) promise that they would restore greatness to their respective countries, the slogan "Make (insert country) Great Again" has been used by many different politicians over the years.

Also, it might do to read a little farther down that interview:

"Is Ivana trying to convince her friends and lawyer that Trump is a crypto-Nazi? Trump is no reader or history buff. Perhaps his possession of Hitler’s speeches merely indicates an interest in Hitler’s genius at propaganda. The Führer often described his defeats at Stalingrad and in North Africa as great victories. Trump continues to endow his diminishing world with significance as well. “There’s nobody that has the cash flow that I have,” he told The Wall Street Journal long after he knew better. “I want to be king of cash.”

So if I ran for president, and I drew on the experiences of my past life- which would include a period that I was learning the philosophy of Rune Magic- should I then be trashed by Cotton Mather for being a witch?

At the end of the day, I don't defend Trump for all of his fumble witted rabbit trails he goes down at times. What I do is try to defend truth against misrepresentation. To me, it is far more harmful for us to disregard the dangers of indiscriminate immigration than worrying about who he copied his term paper from.
