Elvis: Hey, I got back from a week off, and I saw I wuz trendin'!
That's because three days ago was the anniversary of... well, your passing.
Well, that one'll bring down a room...
Not to worry, because I've got something in mind that'll make it a celebration of your life! In the meantime, though...
Ah know, ah know, debut #1, right?

So whut's yer big celebration of me?
Keep your shirt on...

Oh, nice! So anyway, I went back down the timelines and found the #1 songs that were current in the big moments of your life- and it turned out pretty interesting!
Itsa 'bout me, of COURSE it's innersting!
All right, here's the first half of "#1s on the top ten days of Elvis's life!"
10- The day he was born, January 8th, 1938- Fred Astaire and Nice Work If You Can Get It...

I just wanted to throw in, the other night I was telling Laurie I thought we were having a pretty good Songs of Summer '22 race, and wanted to see how it stacked up. Well... there are currently 5 songs at or above the 50-point mark. Pretty good when you figure that's as many that crossed that line the last 2 summers combined- but 2 other summers matched that, and one beat it. Also, the current leader this year JUST pulled into an 8th place tie all time. But, 3 weeks remain to see how they'll stack up in the end, and...
C'mon! Food's on the way, an' I wanna see the rest of the list!
Well, I'm sure not going to make the mistake of saying, keep your pants on, so let's just continue....
5- The day you got drafted...
UGGH!
...March 24th, 1958- hee hee, it was the Champs and Tequila!
It shore wuz! 'Ceptin' Ah didn't never drink...
4- Oh, I love this one- the day you turned 21, January 8th, 1959- The Chipmunk Song!
ARRRGH!
3- The day you got married, May 1st, 1967- wait for it...
Oh, gawd...
The Monkees and A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You! Ha!
These are hittin' purdy close...
And 2- The year you turned 30...
