Good Lord, just look at this Tardis!!! I can't, and won't, begin to describe how bad this is-as I tried to type this, my keyboard froze in shock! I will say... I see the remains of the case of IPAs Dent May sent me all around... Wayne Newton's tux is lying in the corner- and it looks torn.... a pair of Elvis-size boxers with little hearts saying, "Don't Be Cruel" in 3 languages is dangling from the ceiling fan... and what looks like a Donald Duck cap with an obscene message to me is on the video console.
Good grief! Right when all you want to do is give the top ten...
Let me put up the first one while I clear some space... and see if I can find my apparently disrobed colleagues. debuting at 10, more from Juliana Hatfield...
#9 was Frankie Cosmos and Abigail, slipping 3 spots.
Colbie Caillat moved up one with Meant For Me at #8... oh, yuck! This is beginning to look like the great Beatles food poisoning incident! I may have to call Nardole... and the fire department! Hey, there's Elvis.... Thankfully with pants on... but I hardly expected him to be in THAT....
Makes you wonder what exactly the effects of too much 90-Minute IPA are... Anyhow...
Saint Asonia moves up one to #7 with Wolf...
And number six is a bit of a story. Playing music the other night, I played Spotify's most played Built To Spill song. Little did I know it was from 1999... is considered their biggest hit... and I would love it! Coming in at #6....
Going back to 1970, the Cashbox #1 was My Sweet Lord by George Harrison- it was considered one entry with the flip, Isn't It A Pity, on Billboard and in Australia where it also hit the top. In Canada, like CB, it was split, and Isn't It A Pity was this week's #1, with My Sweet Lord just along for the ride. Isn't It A Pity peaked at #46 on CB. In Australia, it was Miguel Rios's A Song Of Joy at the top- a song that got to 9 on CB at hit the top in Canada in the summer. Meanwhile, since I really didn't plan on doing a Song I Wouldn't Turn Off this week, let me just say that the song I want played at my wake- the Guess Who's Share The Land, peaked at 5 last week and fell to #11... in Canada it got to the runner up spot, but once again, Australia was a bit testy at #63. So, just so you can see what you missed...
Cafune moves up to #5 with Shadowboxing... Lilly And Madeline slip one to #4 with Windowless Bedroom... and last wee....oh my... I just found Wayne.... if you know that old Dr Demento thing with the Scotsman who passed out in the alley that ends, "I don' know where ye been, lad, but ye musta won first place!"... well, at least he's got a smile on his face... Let me get a sheet or something, while I try to continue. Last week's #1, Alvvays and Tile By Tile, sits at 3 this time. Juliana Hatfield's other ELO cover on the chart this week, Showdown, moves 3 to #2... and the new #1.....
...Real Estate and Water Underground! Excuse me now, while I get some water above ground and hose Wayne off....
Ok I am here but after waiting 10 minutes for the page to load only to find that only half of it as loaded no pictures, no videos and the thought that Australia has bad taste which made me go what the hell but then you may be right what the hell do I know....... .
I think that it's more to the point that a lot of great songs just didn't make it down there. No one who can give the world Little River Band can be all bad. The loading problems... that I don't know about.
A lone man looking for means of expression in a tsunami of information. Seeking truth justice and the American way in the perspective of a Nixon conservative. And the Commissioner of the free world's smallest and best fantasy football league.
Australia has bad taste! Share the Land is a great song. ☺ Lots of memories...
ReplyDeleteNow, see, you got me in trouble...
