Due to family obligations (AKA Laurie had a rare night off), I did no M10 work until well after I should have been typing up the show! However, I do have an M10 now, so let me at least get THAT in...
The debut at #10 is well-timed. With the death of Blackberry Smoke's drummer, I was going to re-inspect their brand new album (his last), but before I could, I found out they had released a new single from it! With a bit of a Crazy Horse vibe, here's Blackberry Smoke at #10....
It doesn't look like Talk will keep his streak of #1s alive... it gives a notch of ground again this week, falling to 9 with I'm One Of The Rest.
The other debut is at 8, this act's 3rd hit on the M10. One only made a small impact- the other became the second biggest hit of all time. Broken Bells....
This song was actually on their self-titled 2010 lp... how it wandered into my path, I'm not sure. Like many of my best songs!
Dent May had a mixed-bag week. The opener from his new lp What's For Breakfast- One Call, That's All, slips from 2 to 7; the newbie with Jordana, Coasting On Fumes, rockets from 10 to 5.
A similar situation for Amira Elfecky; Here recent #1, Everything I Do Is For You, slips 2 to 6; the latest, A Dozen Roses, leaps from 6 to 2.
Real Estate gains one to 4 with Haunted World; but Camera Obscura gets stuck at 3 (thanks to Amira) with Big Love.
That leaves the top spot for another week to Juliana Hatfield and Secret Messages! Good night, and good morning!
Love the Blackberry Smoke tune! I don't think I've ever heard this band before. Good stuff! Sad about the drummer, though...
ReplyDeleteMy former boss turned me on to them a while back- they've been a fairly common sight here, but not in a while.
DeleteNever heard of either of these songs but liked the clips mostly the first one
ReplyDeleteI did, too- I like those studio clips.
