So the official start of vacation was Friday night and a trip to Red Lobster and the usual watching of this week's Guys Grocery Games...
Because what's a vacation without me? |
But anyway, we made a morning trip to the zoo....
The goats loved rubbing their heads on Stick! |
Like I said on FB, my three favorite parts were: 3- petting the stingrays; 2- the goats rubbing on Stick; and 1- Laurie passing out the lettuce leaves she bought to random little kids to feed the giraffe and watching their faces light up like the sun!
Now there were a couple of videos... let's see if I can put them on here...
...okay, apparently not... but you get the gist of it here. Then comes lunch at BJs and Laurie's first foray into food porn, which included my pizza...
...and her first foray into pot-stickers...
Laurie: "What kind of sauce comes with them?"
Server: "I don't really know, because I don't like them..."
The day moved on to getting Misty a toy, which we didn't take pictures of then, but if you hang on...
I'd say she likes it- it's the first time she posed with a toy on command, and she slept with it last night...
Then came relaxing with sports, as my Oklahoma and Indiana University football teams rolled and my boy Martin Truex Jr won the race at Richmond...
Thank you Getty images |
This morning, Misty and I started with an early walk...
Finally got one of the black squirrels who have taken over the ravine to pose... |
Nothin' shakin at the pond... |
River was WAAAY low, ducks and Killdeers were having a time in the mud flats |
Even Stoney Run was down... |
Sparrow Mafia having breakfast |
And that's where we stand just after Church! Stay tuned for more fun!
Walking along with you and Misty was awesome. I want to be there.
ReplyDeleteHere, grab the leash for a while...
DeleteSuch great photos sounds like a good time
ReplyDeleteBeats work by a mile!
DeleteI don't think I've ever seen a black squirrel here. Huh. Love that you're enjoying vacation. Hubs has been off all week, it took him 6 days to mow the lawn. :)
ReplyDeleteThe water's at a super high level right now. The remnants of Ida dropped 7 inches of us in a few hours.
"...it took him 6 days to mow the lawn..." LOL! For this very reason I love the apartment life. I don't know that we need 7 inches, but 2 or three wouldn't hurt...
