So Friday was mainly a sit-around day. First, two hours at the service center for "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."
Good: Front brakes are fine.
Bad: Rear drums are so bad, they were afraid to take them off (I was just wanting an estimate).
Ugly: Their usual estimator was off yesterday- "We'll mail you the estimate."
KC is spending his last weekend with the kids before he goes for some new job training- in Georgia- starting next Sunday. So they came over...
After the house was well and thoroughly destroyed, we went for a walk. Just to the office and back, enough to wear the boys out. Mostly, though, I watched the softball tourney, which I intend to repeat by and large today.
I've been wanting to make a trip down the long trail, but Misty ( and to a certain extent, me) is still a bit gimpy from the adventure in the Bark Park, so we opted for the shorter, normal walk Saturday morning.

Bright Blue Morning
One of many early birds, all finding worms
Flashing lights (over the bridge) told me they were getting ready for some 'event', our time of peace and quiet wouldn't be long.
The backlit Duck Pond
Tiny worm hangin' out
The white on the far side? All cottonwood fluff
Patches of it here; last night, at the park by the office, there were literal drifts
Oops, ya missed a spot
Misty found new momentum back on the trail
Mrs Duck on one side...
The Mister on the other
Then we heard a splash, and turned to see him up on the log, shaking water off his fanny
A quick sip, then better things to do
We had to check out these things
Dug-out shallow holes, lined with tarp, covered with screen, with fill dirt and sod nearby; guessing some kind of erosion/runoff test
Not early enough to avoid the noisy disc-golfers
Stopped and talked to this lady and her doggies for a bit. The brown one just sniffed Misty's butt and wandered off, the little black one gave her the "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout Willis?" look... | | | | |
Yeah, exactly!
I have no idea if there will be an update later or not, so BOOMER SOONER!
Thanks for these smiles, estimates can be so frustrating as they can be way off the real price
ReplyDeleteEspecially when you gotta wait for 'em...
Deletethecontemplativecat here. I'd say Grandpa is in a happy place at your house. Misty lives in a heavenly place.
ReplyDeleteA few more walks and we'll both be in heavenly places, lol
DeleteThat looked wonderful. It pretty much was a washout here all weekend. Not really all that big a deal for me, but I feel badly for those who spent hundreds of dollars to visit the beach on the first unofficial weekend of summer.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I heard, I twitter-follow an author who chose this weekend to visit the Outer Banks. On the bright side, this morning it cleared enough for "pirate golf". And maybe we'll get the races in...
DeleteAnd today (Wednesday)? STILL blechhhhh.
DeleteIt has been SO beautiful this week here... you shoulda booked a vacay to Fort Wayne!
