trips through woods and years

I know we've gotten a lot of rain and crappy weather, but we had ONE nice day this weekend- and Scrappy and I went out into it:

Hi ho, hi ho...

This has been, around here, one of the best years for color ever...

Scrappy is on the "hunt"...

Somewhere past that last log lying down is a stream bed with some muddy water, and that is his target.  Objective: failed.

This bush supports breast cancer awareness

So I started tripping' down the years past for this weekend...

In 2012, river up, river down, depending on where you look...

In 2013, I'm guessing this was KC's Halloween costume...
2014 was more Fall shots...

...including Big Guy...

...and a squirrel just chillin'...
In 2015, things were worth an extra sniff...

BABY BEL!!

"Aw, c'mon Daddy, lets go to IPFW, before they do something stupid like change their name to a fart sound!"

In 2016, we welcomed Isaiah into the world!

And one year later, he was THIS big!

"Yeah, looks like it's over fer us, kiddo!"

---That's one thing I actually look forward to...looking BACK (weird as that sounds).
---And yes, nice to be proven wrong this year with the foliage, but I will admit that after the splash of color, the trees PROMPTLY dumped the leaves...the wind and rain didn't hurt that.
(Like it was a crime to keep them on the branches for more than two days...heh)
---Now, people can say what they will, but it sure DOES feel like time IS speeding up.
(although you and I know better...lol)
Perhaps it's our own perspectives that adapt the best they can to what goes down around us.
Whatever the case, it's always good to catch a
smile or two whenever we take time to reminisce.

    Good post (and great pictures).

Stay safe (in whatever time you find yourself) up there, brother.

  2. I loved taking a trip down memory lane with you. Glad that Scrappy was able to enjoy at least one day of adventuring.
