Andrew Basiago, past present, and more past.

First, read this:

A lot of people have a hard time trusting lawyers as it is, but what about one who claims he was part of a secret government time travel program when he was a kid?
Since 2004, Seattle attorney Andrew Basiago has been publicly claiming that from the time he was 7 to when he was 12, he participated in "Project Pegasus," a secret U.S. government program that he says worked on teleportation and time travel under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
"They trained children along with adults so they could test the mental and physical effects of time travel on kids," Basiago told The Huffington Post. "Also, children had an advantage over adults in terms of adapting to the strains of moving between past, present and future."
Skeptical? You're not alone. Hong Kong physicist Shengwang Du issued a paper last year saying time travel is impossible, because nothing moves faster than the speed of light, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Nevertheless, Basiago's claim gets support from Alfred Webre, a lawyer specializing in "exopolitics," or the political implications surrounding an extraterrestrial presence on Earth. Webre said teleportation and time travel have been around for 40 years, but are hoarded by the Defense Department instead of being used to transfer goods and services faraway distances.
"It's an inexpensive, environmentally friendly means of transportation," Webre told The Huffington Post. "The Defense Department has had it for 40 years and [former Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld used it to transport troops to battle."  (Courtesty the HuffPost.)

Andy as a child enjoying the sights and sounds of Gettysburg during Lincoln's Address.  According to him.

So let's take a little time trip with Andy and, well, Andy.  You see, he claims to have run into himself during one (or two, if you prefer) of his five or six trips to the Ford Theatre the night of Lincoln's assassination.  If you're still with us, it's not so hard to imagine him/them doing an interview with a certain humble blogger.

We meet at an outdoor table at a neighborhood McDonalds (my choice, natch).  A curtain of light shimmers open and a boy in "contemporary clothes" but shoes about four sizes too big (Like the ones at Gettysburg- "I had been dressed in period clothing, as a Union bugle boy," he said. "I attracted so much attention at the Lincoln speech site at Gettysburg -- wearing over-sized men's street shoes -- that I left the area around the dais and walked about 100 paces over to where I was photographed in the Josephine Cogg image of Lincoln at Gettysburg." - followed by a second Andy wearing the same pants but a Homer Simpson t-shirt instead of an Aeropostale original.

"Boy, " Andy "H" says.  "It's been a long time since I've been to a McDonalds.  Can I get a couple Big Macs before we start?"
"You did,"  I said, pointing at a pair of bags sitting at the table.  "About 15 minutes ago."
"Don't you know how bad that stuff is for you?"  Andy "A" says.  "This era still had 'pink slime'."
"Don't care," says I.
"Don't care," says Andy "H".
"So," I go on as "A" and "H" tear into their bags.  "What made you pick me as the guy you give the interview to?"
"Why," "A" begins, it's an honor to meet with the man that singlehandedly derailed Tom Henry's presidential campaign."
"He hasn't done that yet," says "H".
"Ooops..."
I jot down a note to look further into Fort Wayne's beloved mayor and go on.  "All right, I guess we should start with some questions any skeptic would have.  The tech you claim to be using is supposedly being kept under wraps by DOD."
"Why would anyone be skeptical of that?" "H" asks.
"Not the question, " I say.  "My point I'm going to get at is, if Rumsfeld used it to move troops... Why didn't they use that to get Bin Laden..."
"Who says they didn't?"
"Or Qaddafy?"
"Couldn't nail down his name's proper spelling.  Kinda hard to calibrate when a letter here or there could send you to Fiji, or Des Moines, or..."
"Or Bashir Assad?"
"I told you, we got that.." "A" sputtered.
"Haven't done that yet, either," "H" interjected.
"Crap..."
I scratch my head.  "If you used this tech to get Bin Laden, why the copter crash?" I ask.
"It was supposed to be there as a cover story," "H" said.  But it was the first time we teleported a moving vehicle, and nobody thought to see if fuel teleported without evaporation."
"Just one of those unfortunate bugs," "A" agreed.

Of course, there are risks. Basiago remembered feeling extreme turbulence while going through the vortal time tunnel. Webre said one tragedy occurred in the early days of the technology in which a child in Project Pegasus arrived a few seconds before his legs.
"He was writhing in pain with just stumps where his legs had been," Webre said.

"Moving on," I muttered.  "If you- that is, your 2012 self- is 49 years old and no longer involved in the project, then how is it that you here- as ten year olds, I'm guessing- know things that haven't even happened yet?  Have you went into the future as well?"
"Don't be silly," "H" scoffs. "You can't go into the future."
"Why not?"
"Because," says "A" with a roll of the eyes."You can go into the past because the present has already happened.  You might accidentally change something, but that just makes more pasts and presents.  But if you went in the future, you could never come back."
"Why not?"
"Because the future hasn't happened yet.  If you went, you'd find nothing, and when you'd try to come back, there'd be no way to find your way," "A" explained.
"Because there's nothing in-between to connect to," "H" added.
"So how do you know..." I begin, starting to feel a headache coming on.
" 'Present-Andy' keeps in touch," "A" said.
"We keep each other updated," "H" added.
"Mmmm" I nodded.  "Let's see... Project Pegasus is- or was- a secret government project..."
"Yes, the Project Pegasus in Marvel Comics is based on it, " "H" interjects.
"Hide in plain sight," "A" nodded.
"Mark Grunewald came up with the idea," "H" said.  "He was a genius, as a comic editor and a project group leader.  He is missed."
"Well, by the comics world and the present," "A" put in.  "I mean, we still talk to him."
"And check out his Monday morning briefings."
"But Mark.. oh, never mind," I shake my head.  "What I was going to ask was, what were their goals in sending you and the others into the past?"
"Finding new technology," "H" said casually.

Basiago said he experienced eight different time travel technologies during his stint in the program. Mostly, he said, his travel involved a teleporter based on technical papers supposedly found in pioneering mechanical engineer Nikola Tesla's New York City apartment after his death in January 1943.
"The machine consisted of two gray elliptical booms about eight feet tall, separated by about 10 feet, between which a shimmering curtain of what Tesla called 'radiant energy' was broadcast," Basiago said. "Radiant energy is a form of energy that Tesla discovered that is latent and pervasive in the universe and has among its properties the capacity to bend time-space."

"New Tech?  In the past?"
"How do you think Tesla developed what he had?" "A" replied.  "He worked from what had gone before.  Graham Bell, Whitney, Benjamin Franklin..."
"George Foreman..." "H" added.
"The boxer?"
"Yeah, I guess," "A" said.  "Although he's actually famous all down through history for the George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine."
"Shhh," "H" cautioned.  "They haven't stumbled onto all its uses yet."
"Damn," "A" cursed.  "They should give me a cheat sheet..."
"I put it in your mailbox tomorrow," "H" answered.

Resisting the urge to bang my head on the table, I tried one last time.  "So, then, what era does Present-Andy actually live in?  Is he actually here, a 49-year-old, in 2012, or..."
"2012?" "A" choked on a fry.  "WTF..."
"Shit, we aren't supposed to be here till 2015!" "H" exclaimed.  Pulling a quarter out of his pocket, he shouted into it, "Emergency retrieval!  Emergency retrieval!"
"Wait!" I shouted at the panicked child/children.  "What's so bad about being in 2012?"
"We can't be here for the rapture," "A" shouted.  "We haven't become a Christian yet!"
I could just hear "H" scold "A" as they faded into the shimmering return of the field that brought them, "At least they knew that one..."  And with a short rush of wind, they were gone.

I looked at the empty seats before me, the normal sky, the unfinished food on the table.
"Oh well," I said.  "More for me..."

GREAT SATAN 1, BIN LADEN 0

ENJOY THOSE VIRGINS!!!

Like every brain-functional American, I celebrate the just desserts that we at long last dealt out to the world's largest mass-murdering mouse turd.  First and foremost, thank you and congratulations to the Navy Seals who pulled off an effort worthy of a TV miniseries.  You boys are the BEST!!!

I'd also like to congratulate President Obama.  If you think about the last months of attacking Qaddaffyduck and now nailing the Human Hemorrhoid, he's pretty much eliminated all case for those who claim he's a muslim-symp; Combine that with the birth certificate thing, and he's had a pretty good week.

On the other side of the equation, I think we ought to pull out of Pakistan lock, stock, and barrel.  Asif Ali Zardari Has gotten a hemorrhoid of his own sitting the fence on whether he's a western ally or a fundamentalist hand holder, but he shows his true colors here by allowing a compound 8 times the size of anything else in the neighborhood, 35 miles from his capital, with retired military all over the neighborhood.  I say it's time to see how long he and his buddies will last without "the great Satan" standing behind him.

(A dog, huh?  I would've guessed a rat, or a skunk...)
Anyway, next we salute the way his body was disposed of.  No marker, no grave, no place for indigent, illiterate terrorist troublemakers to hang out.  Islamic leaders say he should have found a place to bury him.  We said, no body wants him.  Of course, that was not quite correct, but regulations against export of fertilizer to Hugo Chavez, Qaddaffyduck, and Iamanutjob (Venezyela, Libya, and Iran) prevented it.  Oh well, he'll be more valuable at the bottom of the Arabian Sea than he ever was on Terra Firma...

And finally, let's hear it for the American People.  We waited, we worried.  We never, NEVER gave up.  Let this be a warning to all you rag-topped nutbags out there lining up to take the dearly departed's place.  Your number will be pulled next.  Or, as the mighty Thor once noted; the mills of justice grind slow... but exceedingly fine.

GOD BLESS THE USA!!!

Chris Martin sells vote to highest bidder

Not really, I just thought it might attract Win Moses and his band of Benedict Arnolds for when I chew them yet another new one later on.

Anyway, Monday I was too sick to want to read or write. Which meant that yesterday I was too busy catching up reading to write. Today I'm going to rant first and read later.

Topic #1: Libya. WTF do we (read: does Obama) think we are doing? I'm as patriotic and hawkish as the next guy (more so, depending), but let's step back and look at this. First, we have a revolt in Libya, fad o' the week in the middle east. We had one in Egypt, where we got along for many years with Sadat and Mubarik until it became PC to bash poor Hasni, evil bastard that he was. Now we'll probably end up with Gamal Abdel Nasser #2, and won't that be fun? Well, there's one in Bahrain (what is that, the 5th fleet's base? Or is it 6th, I'm not sure), but there, mum's the word. Ditto in Yemen, because EVERYbody knows all the rebels there are al-Qaeda. So that brings us to Libya, where we are actively supporting rebels who are in turn being supported by that same al-Qaeda that we don't like in Iraq and Yemen. We're shooting missiles at planes so that Qaddaffyduck can't strafe civilians while he's blowing them to bits. The Arab League wants us to set a no-fly zone, as long as we don't kill any one. France and Obama play hot potato with the leadership of the "UN" mandate. And what exactly are we doing? Are we saving lives? Debatable. Giving aid to a legitimate government, one that will appreciate our help? Not really, and yeah, right. Hillary "mine are bigger than Bill's" Clinton basically said the goal is to get rid of Qaddafyduck.
Okay, now ask this: Why Now? Getting rid of a screwball nobody likes is, as the liberals like to tell us, why we went into Iraq. Just a way to get votes for GW Bush, they said. No exit strategy, they said. But Sadaam Hussein was a murderous nutcase and needed to go, and thus we all got patriotic and GW got his second term, they said.

DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR!!!!!??????!!!!

Well, when al-Qaeda assumes the running of Libya and tells us to go jump, PLEASE remember THAT at the next election.

Topic #2: If Obama wants to blow cruise missiles in an arena that Might get him my vote, how about aiming them at Urbana, Illinois. My opinion on the traito...er, democrat walkouts here and in the Cheese state are well documented, I know, and I think actually cost me a follower, a young teacher who might have the mistaken impression I want her to live in poverty. So I'd like to clear up my intent once and for all. I have nothing against teachers or any other union member. I have heard from many well-spoken members of the other side, and I realize not everyone in the debate is a greed-serving scum sucker (read: union Mgmt.) or a blindly following sheeple who is out there howling about losing all collective bargaining rights; which is a bold-faced lie. I thank fellow blogger Roland Hansen and the Beyond the Beltway radio show Sunday night for aiding in my education.
What I AM Against:
1. ALL union mgmt. Their mutually parasitic relationship with the democratic party is destroying any usefulness and/or credibility in either organization.
2.The tactics of bringing in ringers to flood statehouses is IMHO deplorable. I don't need ticks and lice from New York and Pennsylvania (sorry Bob) coming to my state to tell my legislators what they want them to do.
3. Doctors passing out fake excuses to sorry-ass teachers that think pitching one at the capitol is more important than TEACHING THEIR STUDENTS.
4.Legislators (like the one in Wisc.) who think when a union member doesn't want his dues spent on Dem. candidates, the proper response is, "get another job."
5. Union officials (such as the head of the Michigan AFof L) who, when told that the non-union middle class (that the dems and unions are allegedly defending) are tired of paying the price for the unionized middle class' intransigence, feel that the proper response is, "you should unionize your workplace". Not a lie, I heard it myself. The next caller was a union teacher that told him that advice was "a bunch of crap", BTW.
6. But most of all, I do not like legislators that think holding the whole GD state hostage while they prance around and look pretty for their union mgmt. succubi is proper legislative action. Anyone who votes for someone who'd do that might just as well take their state taxes and blow 'em on the lottery, you'll get the return you deserve most likely.

Topic #3: Dumb commercials. In particular, one running on radio where some train company tells us that it can move a ton of freight a mile on a gallon of fuel. Perspective: If that freight car is empty, it weighs @ 30 tons, so that gallon of fuel will take the kick at the goal line and return it just across midfield. Fully loaded, it might weigh 140 tons, which means that gallon just might squeeze out a first down. Best to just fill 'er up, engineer.

Topic #4: Meth. I heard tonight that we are spending some 40% of Indiana's correctional budget on meth-related spending. All to keep a handle on our society's stubborn will to destroy itself. My God, we are crying tears of sympathetic pain over nature destroying Japan, but we sit here in this very state destroying ourselves and we still have people that say, if we'd just legalize it all everything would be OK!?! I hope katie over at Agape doesn't think me hypocritical, but sometimes it gets very hard to ask myself, why do we even care? and answer, because God still cares.

Okay, I feel better, Scrappy's begging me to rough him up, and I still haven't had dinner. Have a good evening, everyone. And Win? I think you left the stove on...

The Worth- while

The last couple of days, the news has either been more depressing or my reserve of emotion for handling it is not up to par after three nights of OT, etc. Every news story tonight made me want to go grab my big beating stick a little more- the rising price of gas, brought on mainly because of speculators who have a vested self-interest in driving up the prices,; empty headed enviro-terrorists (who count our beloved POTUS among them) who keep us tied to foreign oil instead of drilling the reserves we have right here; Sirhan Sirhan's lawyer, who is "disappointed" that his client was denied parole yet again, despite his opinion that " he met every one of the criteria for suitability to be released" (except, perhaps for the fact that he's a murdering whackjob.); having to put up with Westboro "baptist church's" free speech win at the Supreme court because if we don't allow them their malignancy, the ACLU will have grounds to silence legitimate Christians from every public intercourse, and AARRRRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!

So when I got home tonight, I checked the e-mail and got my daily letter from Chuck Swindoll. Appropriate to the topic, it included this:

Yesterday we read Jesus's parable of the king who forgave his servant---who then refused to forgive a fellow-servant. (You may want to read it again from Matthew 18:23-35.) From this parable, we learned that to refuse to forgive is hypocritical.
But there's a second lesson: to refuse to forgive inflicts inner torment upon us. Remember how the story ends? It is exceedingly significant. "And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him" (Matthew 18:34).
"Well," you say, "that was just a parable. We can't press every point and say each little detail applies to us." Granted, but in this case, it's not a little detail. It's the punch line, the climax of the whole story. How can I say that? Because verse 35 is not part of the parable. It is a statement Jesus makes after the story ends. It is His penetrating application of the whole parable on forgiving others:
"My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart." (Matthew 18:35)

So I shouldn't rant about them, the AWOL dems in Indiana and Wisconsin, the brain-unused armed robber of NE Ft. Wayne, or any of the million other things I want to take the big beating stick to, at least not to the point of wishing them harm. (yeah, I realize that ain't the whole story, but bear with me.) So how does one get back into a frame of mind that allows forgiveness to those the mind tells you desperately need a beating instead? Well, starting off, get home safely. Follow with a brisk man-and-dog trip to Scrappy's Landing and environs. Get a hot meal. Interrupt Jeopardy by tickle-attacking Laurie until Scrappy joins in (NEVER on MY side, mind you). Get a hot shower. Crack open a Pepsi, and commit yourself to the attempt to forgive the unlovable. At least in print. And save yourself one news item to laugh at. To wit:

WASHINGTON --Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi has lost legitimacy to lead and he must leave, President Obama said Thursday as the Pentagon confirmed the Libyan "mad dog" was using air power to strike rebel forces who refuse to settle for less than his ouster.
"Let me just be very unambiguous about this: Col. Qaddafi needs to step down from power and leave. That is good for his country that is good for his people that is the right thing to do," the president said during remarks to reporters alongside Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

But Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez may throw a wrinkle in U.S. and international ambitions offering to negotiate a way to salvage Qaddafi's regime through mediation between the Libyan dictator and the rebel National Libyan Council.

Venezuela's Information Minister Andres Izzara told Reuters that Libya had accepted a proposal "to work for a negotiated end to the conflict accompanied by an international commission." Izzara said Venezuela will discuss "formulas for peace in Libya" with Arab allies.
Rebel forces say no way.
"No one has told us a thing about it and we are not interested anyway. We will never negotiate with him," rebel spokesman Abdul Hafif Goga told The Guardian.
(Courtesy FoxNews.)

Does anyone else see this as a contest between Laurel and Hardy (Obama and li'l buddy Calderon) and Bevis and Butt-head (Qaddaffyduck and Hugo Fudd)? Chavez helping Qaddaffyduck out would be like, say, Castro teaching Stalin the fine arts of public oppression. Obama and Li'l Buddy stepping in to settle things would be like... well, like Obama and Li'l Buddy stepping in to settle things.

All right, I feel better for one more evening.

March Manglings

Got home at @ 6:45 tonight because trucking companies that deal with our companies are convinced that they will be struck dead if they don't show up for morning appointments after 4 PM (AKA 1/2 hour before quitting time). Combine that with a label printing system on our part that( for reasons too retarded to go into here) made it so that I had to re-label and re-scan what I would estimate to be a truck-and-a-half worth of product. Combine that with my number coming up on the random (and I laugh as I use that term) drug test for the third time in four months (the other victim this month was on his fifth trip in 8 chances). And, I had to attend a cutter's meeting (just to remind me that I am a cutter; I've been farmed out to other departments for all but 2 days so far this entire year) which, among its other messages, our super told us that they were trying "everything we can think of" to prevent the OMG OT we worked last year. I was of course filled with confidence at that.

Yesterday, had I a little more energy, I had enough material to do a who's dumber-athon. I've already commented on the star of that prospective show, Charlie Sheen, over on ms nk rey's blog. Rather than copy the next story, here: just watch the video of Bevis and Butt-head ignoring the two patrol cars outside and shoplifting in a store full of sheriff's deputies:

Contestant #3 was to be Iran, who looked at the curiously designed London 2012 Olympic symbol and declared it racist, because if you're burning the best incense you can see it spells out "Zion";

Yeah, I see it too. How could they? Actually though, here's the real truth:

But IOC President Jacques Rogge brushed off the country's claims, saying: "The IOC response is quite clear. The logo of London means London Olympic Games 2012, nothing more and nothing less."

HUH? Not only is it racist to idiots, it's also dangerous to epileptics:

The 2012 logo has been heavily criticised for its design. The animation version was removed from websites over fears it might trigger epileptic seizures.

But nobody cares that it's just plain butt-ugly, apparently.

I know I had yet another entry from Qaddafiduck, but I just can't find it. But time's a wastin' and Popper needs a shower. So good night and God bless...

February Flotsam on Sunday

Okay, among the things on my widely-scattered mind today:

1. In researching other things today, I was looking into a set of stats put forth by David Barton about some of the negative trends in society since the 1962 decision to ban school prayer. You can look at them for yourselves if you like; I was drawn to the rebuttal by a chap going by the name of Abemore who accused Barton of "spreading twisted lies" by selectively presenting his charts. Of course, in the typical vein of evangelical atheists, he starts it out with the pronunciation that Barton "is an idiot" (that bastion of credibility of the liberal fringe- insult, insult, insult); then he goes on to select the one chart he CAN try to overthrow statistically- the spike in venereal disease since the decision. While he does make two valid points- first, that the spikes are closely tied to occurrence of major wars; second, that Barton did not show how those rates have since dropped off- he fails to note two other things that puncture his bubble. One, he does not note that the spike Barton referred to started after major involvement in Vietnam and second, that its peak came 3 years after we were OUT of Vietnam. Not to mention the fact that this peak ran MUCH higher and was already starting from a higher base. The fact that that indicator later ebbed does not invalidate Barton's hypotheses, it merely shows that the symptoms of societal debasement can be mitigated over time- if not the decay itself.

Abemore does not bother to contest anything other than the VD chart, stating that one chart overthrown is basically all charts overthrown- Apparently assuming that the "war" must also have been the cause of higher murder rates, higher teen pregnancy rates, and lower SAT scores. In a sidelight, he also references another of his statistical breakthroughs that claims a connection between being religious and higher rates of divorce. To manage this, he makes the assumption that because Christians have a special relationship with God, that if God exists they should have a supernatural protection from divorce. He sites stats that show that basically everyone has similar divorce rates, therefore Christianity is somehow invalidated. Not surprising since his assumptions about that special relationship between Christians and God are completely wrong; the nature of that relationship focuses on forgiveness and personal responsibility to avoid sin. Atheists refuse to grasp that the Nature of God is such that man's failure does NOT equal God's failure. Also, I find it curious that Abemore's VD chart only includes Gonorrhea and not AIDS, which would have eliminated the dip over the years involved. Mustn't slay our sacred cows, I suppose.

2. I also learned this morning that there is a strong statistical link between legal and Illegal immigration- they rise and fall together. The Center for Immigration Studies states that much of this is because increased legal immigration not only encourages others to try to enter, but the backlogs at INS because of this forced the impatient to cross the river without waiting. What started out this chain reaction? Well, you start with the Hart-Cellar act of 1965 which changed the requirements for immigration from being a person who can positively contribute to society (which, I might add, Mexican law still IS) to a basic quota system; since we were in the era of civil rights, let's give civil rights to everyone, whether they are citizens or not. And this abomination we can lay squarely at the feet of Ted Kennedy, whose first assignment as a Senator was to work this bill through. Being the prescient paragon of rightness that he was, Ted predicted,"First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same.... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset...Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia.... In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think.... It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs."

This I find sadly amusing. Consider this from this very day's Journal Gazette article about the "diversity" in the McKinney-Hessen Cassel census tract in SE Ft. Wayne:
The official census tract breakdown is 653 whites, 726 blacks, 483 Asians, 183 Hispanics. While the tract's population increased 14 percent since 2000, it was mostly from Hispanics and Asians. Non-Hispanic whites in the area declined 28 percent, and blacks dropped to a lesser degree.

Again, not surprising from the man who wanted to put McDonald's out of business for making kids fat. What did you top out at before your illness, Ted?

Oh, and BTW, Illegals in the USA were estimated at just over 500,000 in 1969, shortly after Hart-Cellar passed. That amount had doubled by 5 years later; that number in turn tripled by 1980, and even that number more than doubled by 2000. But our "ethnic mix" is still the same as it was in 1965. That's what Ted said, and I believe him. ;<)

3. My ESPN baseball team got autodrafted this morning. Being a Reds fan (my second team behind Oakland), I was less than thrilled to see I got Adam Wainwright (who is not only a Cardinal but just got scheduled for Tommy John surgery and will miss the whole year) but his teammate Colby Rasmus (which should make KC laugh since he knows I cannot stand Rasmus). Needless to say, I am ejecting both of them ASAP.

4. Robbie Gordon just wiped out on lap 34. Good. That man should have his car impounded and be issued a tricycle in the name of public safety. Now he's weeping about Marcus Ambrose bumped him. Karma from last week's a bummer, huh, Robbie?

5. I see Quaddafiduck's sons told the UN that all the stories of massacres in Libya are "overblown". I think they got ahold of some of those drugs al-Qaeida is passing out to the anti-Duck protesters.

Thoughts for today

Or "more February flotsam", if you prefer.

1. The situation In Christchurch, NZ. I send my prayers along with grief over "the darkest day in New Zealand". The CBS News report is running behind me right now.

2. The next thing on the news- Quaddaffiduck and the Libyan situation. Its hard to take much amusement out of such a catastrophe, but... The original nut job has stated A) the rebels are just youths who've been paid in drugs (Gosh, if that was possible, just think of all the fun they'd be having in Mexico. Cheech and Chong: Lethal Weapon); B) that they were "taking your children and getting them drunk ( man, he's got a thing about intoxication, don't he?) ; and C), the one I reeeeeally love, being a history buff, that "we will not let the Italians and the Turks take over our country." I like living in the past, too, but I generally don't go clear back to 1911.
I never mouthed off about the Egypt affair because I was too concerned about the aftermath, and am still waiting on that one. But here? Quaddaffiduck says he will die a martyr for Libya. I think that one's going to be arranged before the week's out.

3.My two cents about the pirates that killed those Yachters. ANY pirate ship should be blown to atoms, no questions asked.

4. Annnnnd now, the Wisconsin thing. I would like, without really debating the bill, to comment on two points.
First, my take on unions. I have watched at more than one place while unions let good workers hang while getting every break possible for the scum of the earth. I have watched as what once were proud American organizations become absolutely nothing but Democrat PACs. And I have watched while union workers who really aren't any more skilled or doing jobs that are any more important than mine make 2 and 3 times the pay that I do. And now, when they should be leading the fight to rein things in, make our government and our economy better, they have the nerve to say, "not out of MY wallet." They don't even want to take collective bargaining for pay away from them, just benefits. Meanwhile, these same people who are either being led by the nose or living with a sense of entitlement that says they're better than I, are on the warpath in Indiana too, because they are afraid to compete with non-union shops. I pity the poor people who will work in right-to-work shops in Indiana if we get them, because I'm sure they will do any inhuman thing to make them miserable if they decide not to be a union "brother". So, yeah, for all these reasons, I have utterly no problem with seeing all the unions hang. Since you are all about "what's in it for me", I'm sure you'll excuse me if I act the same.

Second, I think any teacher who isn't in the classroom should be terminated at the end of the year. The kids should be the important thing; the politics is what you pay your dues for union management to take care of. And any legislator too gutless to stay in the statehouse and fight for his position should find himself unemployed after the next election. Of course I realize that Wisconsin has been pseudo-communist for over a century, so that won't happen there. But I will put every state and National legislator from my district on notice: I don't care if you are Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, or George Freaking Washington- if you flee the state to avoid a vote on ANYTHING, I will NEVER, EVER vote, support, or say anything nice about you ever again. I cannot properly express my contempt for these cowards. And like I said on the unions, if you feel that absence makes the heart grow fonder, you won't be upset if I express my fondness when you need my vote.

Rant over, time to make supper.
