Quick update

Laurie's dad is now in a hospice- waiting for the clock to wind down. We thought we were going to lose him several times Sunday night. At one point, at the end of a bad bout of struggling and twitching, he opened his eyes to see all 5 kids, one step-grandkid, 5 significant others, and somebody's pastor, and said, "Boy, there sure are a lot of people here..." Most of the time, though, he was out of it, asking for a "charlie" which we eventually deduced was some military lingo for a landing or docking clearance. Laurie's on her way right now to go visit. They were given an estimate of 5 days, and I'm not sure when but I believe we're on day 2 or three.
