Guess what? Pictures

It's been a hard week to get at posting anything.  Tuesday was "Carolclysm" Day- Basically, they say we have a glitch in the ordering system at work which turns, say, a order that is supposed to be for 13 covers into an order for five when it gets to me.  Our scheduler is supposed to be catching that, but she has been relying on my boss to catch them for her.  Well, my boss is on enforced leave- a food based intestinal blockage that almost saw him bleed to death- and finally his backup- a lady from the Missouri plant- had enough and spent "until almost midnight" Monday night making her get things right.  Tuesday, KC hits a big dog with his car and smashes his radiator.  He's okay, the car isn't quite fatal- but it came at a time where he was late on rent anyway, and he was really struggling emotionally for a couple of nights.  Last night, I bet my last DraftKings dime on two "sure thing" college football games, only to have both my picks get absolutely obliterated.  So  needless to say, my opinion on 'fun' has been somewhat lacking.  But here's what you haven't seen yet.

First, Monday the 20th:

I believe this was a short-work day, and it was sunny and nice.

A good day to cross the pitch to the river.

The year of the lost sock rolls on

Big time chewing us out- for what, IDK

Past the Duck "Pond"

And a dip at Scrappy's Landing

As you can see, the river is still down at this point

Curious place to find another orphaned golf ball

Someone was happy to get in the river again

Either Mattress Warehouse has a rather still employee or someone lost a hat

I believe that brings us to Saturday the 25th- and the weather had taken a turn:

In other words- frosty

Lots of people about, though

Soccer outside 2025 has come to an end...

...inside is another matter

It looked like three suns, one on top of the other

Blue Jay

Steam rolling across a now-normal river- guess they opened the dam

Much like Big Guy, the Pin Oak at Squirrel Corners hangs on to green until the end

A brief stop at Monday the 27th...

Just wasn't of a mind to take shots, I guess

And finally, this morning...

Our former neighbors moved out a while back, and they've spent the last few days- and NIGHTS- dismantling and removing the considerable bunch of crap they left.  Every morning we end up with a new pile of junk outside our door.

Kitteh in the window

Apparently another running event is in the offing

Sun enters the chat

They were doing major "set up for winter" work on the fields near the woods

More event evidence

I haven't seen a wooly worm yet, but as the squirrels are fatter and more sluggish than usual, beginning to think a cold winter is coming

I was musing on this fact- if evolution is true, how come the black squirrel population- who stand out even more now- is the one that's growing?

Doggie wants to go- she saw her buddy Oreo down the way

"Oh well, guess I'll just have a drink and move on..."

Like I said, a lot of contraptionary back and forth from the pitches
