Picture time

Once again, we are on our usual cycle of walks on Friday-Saturday, rest on Sunday.  Misty may not like it, but her feet do!  That said, we start with a Thursday night adventure...

Where'd you go?

Ah, there!

Varmint #1

And by the time Misty, ignoring my pointing, caught his scent, he was gone

"Somewhere in here, I think"

Near the duck pond

A turtle? This time of year?  As you might guess, we are hours away from the coming cold snap

"Time for a quick dip, and..."

"...hey, check it out!"

Deer watching girl...

...girl watching deer

Varmint #2

Halfway down the hole after him

Ducks pretending to swim: Water depth about a quarter-inch

Now, Friday morning:

Me:  Doesn't look like anyone else is out here!  Squirrel: Just wait...

Me: Looks like they moved the bridge around again! Misty: There's 2 peoples with 2 doggies up there!

Remember those high-up shelves from last time?  Not so high now...

Passed a gaggle of people at the south end- including 2 sets of golfers

When we first met this guy he was leaving the woods, abandoning an air hose... now he is going back, with heavy equipment

More doggie

More doggie in water

"Man, this stuff's only a quarter inch deep!"

"Yeah, someone said that yesterday..."

We ran into this group earlier, too.  I think the one lady was taking them on a tour...

And Saturday:

Misty was intent that there was varmintage here!  My guess, there was a mole underground.

Here we are on the dry bed of what we've been calling "the Arboreal Ocean".

Not far from the creek...

...and a challenge to get out of!

Even once you're on open ground, you have to climb this...

Doggie ends up with stickers on her nose...

"There, that'll take care of 'em!"

Milkweeds busted open this week

  1. Great adventures. Wish our desert community could walk along this.

  2. It's all in how you see the world- and which direction you aim the camera...

  3. We see turtles well into November here. Albeit sunning themselves on a rock or pipe, but they don't disappear until the snow starts.

    1. The Swamp's usually abandoned by them by the summer drying out. I think he was lost or something...
