I have quite a slew for you today, as I have officially started the annual birthday vacation- saving my Plant Manager the problem of wondering how he was going to keep us all busy next week. We begin last Friday, I believe... Nope, actually Sunday, with a visit from the boys.
They love this game! They assign a car to each of us, then give us a blow-by-blow of how we came out each time |
Trying hard not to smile...
Next up will be... Thursday afternoon.
Sure sign of summer approaching- the latrine wall at the soccer pitch |
Sweet clover blooming |
Hey, how did this pic get out of order?? |
Latest fallen (across the trail) tree... I counted 52 rings |
Doggie chewed Misty out |
Another round of Buzzard Olympics |
Can you believe this, a buddy tried landing further out than this guy, and almost brought them both down! |
And another round of "Lose the disc", dude was one of 4 guys looking |
"I know where it is, and I'm not telling!" |
Resting at the benches |
A flock of SUVs at the landing |
Sleeping goose |
That night, we did our ritual of "look for the bunnies" |
And that brings us to Friday- the first Beckett's Run excursion...
Beautiful day for it |
1/2 mile mark |
FWFD practicing water rescue all along the way |
Misty observes a side path. They lead to private property in most cases, so we don't indulge |
Lots of little oaks coming up |
Misty kept hydrated with lots of little swampy areas along the way |
one mile mark |
Love to live there |
Taking a break at the overlook |
Varmintage investigation, inconclusive |
Begins the Great Doggie adventure. Old boy tells his little gray one, "You need to learn not to bark. I know it's a dog!" |
We had to stand back, not for them... |
But for that one.. |
Mile and a half... |
More doggie hijinks, this time a spaniel |
Round 2 |
So we did a thing... |
We decided not to follow the Spaniel family's meanderings and turned back right at the 2 mile mark |
Finch flight |
Squirrel dash |
One more break |
Somewhere in that mess, a squirrel chews us out |
3 mile mark |
Misty wants to off-road |
Ah... 4 miles later... |
Well, that Bob's bar pic turned out SO well... Shenan, Grayson, Isaiah, KC |
And your hosts |
Capping off the night by Laurie returning from a semi-surprise birthday party with her friend Rachel |
thecontemplativecat here. What a travelogue of photos. Your little guys at the beginning? Gr-kids? Darling little fellers. Seeing the small flowers in the green is such a happy feeling.
ReplyDeletegrandkids, and accomplished karaoke singers!
DeleteCute grandkids! ☺ And the nature photos are always enjoyable. Is Misty reactive to other dogs? We have that issue with Zoey and are always making detours when we see them approaching. She has calmed down a lot, though. Getting older and more mature. Happy staycation!☺
ReplyDeleteMisty is what I call "aggressively friendly", and a lot of dogs don't like her version of "getting to know you". Since she got Addisons, I don't take a lot of chances.
