While I won't go into the mourning I did for Brian Wilson, I will note that this is another bad week in regards to the expansion of the "Heavenly band"- they gained a vocalist in Bobby Sherman, and a guitarist in Bad Company's Mick Ralphs. I guess when you're 63, your childhood 'heroes' start thinning out as much as your hair.
I don't have a lot of "filler material" today, but I do have a new #1 and 2 new debuts. The first of those comes in at #9 from our acid jazz man, Matt Berry:
So I spent a little time just now to check the charts on Radiowavemonitor and Billboard for a) songs that had or are in the M10, and b) songs that are currently in the shuffle I pick from. Here are some of the results: Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae's What I Want is #3 on Billboard, #38 on RWM's top 100, and 31 on their AC (adult contemporary). Shaboozy's A Bar Song (Tipsy) amazingly is STILL #7 on Billboard, 27 on RWM's Country, 8 on their 100, and 5 on their AC. The Beths and Metal (in my shuffle- from here on noted as IMS) is 23 on the RWM College chart; Rise Against with I Want It All, another IMS, is 41 alt and 23 on the "big Rock" chart.
Wednesday's Elderberry Wine (IMS) is 26 college; Volbeat's Time Will Heal (IMS) is 72 alt and 57 big rock. The Final IMS song is Dorothy and Tombstone Town, at 58 on big rock.
Former M10s include 3 from Linkin Park: Up From The Bottom is 6 alt, 75 on the RWM 100, and 5 on big rock; The Emptiness Machine is 29 on big rock, and Heavy Is The Crown is right below it at 32. Evanescence's Afterlife is 22 on alt, 80 on the 100, and #1 on big rock! Phantogram's Come Alive is at 37 on alt; and finally, Lucius's Gold Rush is 90 on college. So I guess some of my songs, other people know...
The second debut is brand new Geowulf at #7...
That marks the 17th hit for Geowulf on the M10.... which I am pretty certain is the record, as Beach House has 15 and Lucius 14.
The rest of this week's M10:
10- 9 weeks in the 10 for former #1 Counting Crows with Under The Aurora, down 3.
8- for the 3rd week, Eddie Vedder and friends with All Along The Watchtower.
6- down a notch, Minus 5 with Blow In My Bag.
5- Up a big 4, Tennis and Sister.
4- Up a spot for the big debut last week, the Doobies and Here To Stay.
3- and holding for now, Morgan Wallen's What I Want.
2- the former #1, Melissa Auf der Maur's Out Of Our Minds.
And the new top dog- their fourth-
...Real Estate with Pink Sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There you go for this week- enjoy and have a great weekend!
