So I have a funny story or two about today's walk (which will be yesterday's walk when you read this), and two weeks of M10 to let you in on. So first off, Amira Elfkey dropped to #10 last time, and off this week, with Forever Overdose. Brother Down by Sam Roberts Band did likewise, falling to 9 last time, and thence off. And Eddie Vedder held both weeks at 8 with All Around The Watchtower.
At #7 last week was this debut that my son clued me in on...
Okay, so let me start the walk story. We have a "heat dome" incoming, that I thought was starting THIS morning (again, yesterday your time), so Misty and I braced ourselves for an early (0630) walk today...
It didn't look too bad, considering the bad t-storms we had last night...
Big ol' mushroom- not surprising as it is quite humid...
Neighbors got slime mold- haven't seen ours yet
Breakfast
Hmm... those clouds... oh, well, we might get sprinkled on
Dalbello, despite having this lp, called She, purged from Spotify (but none of her other stuff) moved up to 6 with Tango last week; but drops to 10 this week.
The Minus 5 move from 7 to 5, and 5 to 4, with Blow In My Bag.
Deradoorian held at 4, then dropped to 6, with Set Me Free. And it was at this week's 5 we have a high debut- from the latest new Doobie Brothers lp:
By the time we made the woods, the gloamin' had set in
Tons of water from last night...
And then, the deluge broke...
It poured, and I do mean poured. We hid under a tree for a while, accompanied by a mosquito who didn't survive the experience... but soon the trail became more of a river, and we made a break for it...
We broke from the woods just as the rain finally slowed a bit...
Needless to say, we had finished our shower, and were ready to go dry off.
Last week, Counting Crows dropped from the top to #3 with Under The Aurora, and slips to 7 this time around. Real Estate climbed to 2 last week with Pink Sky; it remained there this week. That means I have but to reveal the #1 for the last 2 weeks, along with the song that debuted this week at #9...
After an afternoon nap, we tried again, in a much different climate...
Sunshine! Blue sky! and in the 70s!
Yeah, the hat will dry well in this!
Puddle at the crossing
Plenty to drink at the foot bridge
...and everywhere else
That tail belonged to a squirrel giving us the business.
Arboreal Ocean filling nicely
That's where we "sheltered" this morning
The trail right across from that spot...
If you've seen previous "off the bridge" pics, this will tell you about how much rain we got
And #1 both weeks- with a tip of the hat (wet or dry) to Debbie D...
Melissa Auf der Maur with Out Of Our Minds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But wait! More pics!
Normally I'd be standing about at my shadow's shoulder...
Trying to see what's skittering away in the Swamp
Here's the other funny story. I paused at the ruins of the old bridge to look at the Tiger Lilies, when a varmint tucked up against the middle pier rustled the grass. Before I knew it...
...Misty had went right off the abutment after him! She was okay, but it took me a minute to convince her she was NOT coming back up the way she went down!
Anyway, there's the lilies...
And a desperate attempt to catch the Baltimore Oriole again.
THAT is the grapes beginning to form
Butterflies everywhere
More grapes on the way
RASPBERRIES! Afternoon snack time!
We split about 6 between the two of us. Misty loves 'em!
