And here's the Labor Morning walk...
Way in the distance is a lady with a dog dippier than Misty. It barked at us from two soccer fields away- and kept at it until we disappeared into the woods, whether it had a line of sight on us or not. |
Big Guy looking lit up by using the iso-function... |
The flash version is closer to what it really looked like. |
Just before the bridge, this doe came out of the woods and looked at us. She calmly left, and I was going to put the camera away... |
...when her THREE fawns came traipsing out after her. I managed to KINDA catch the last one.. |
She had sent them down the defile to the creek by the time we got up where she was. |
Our first year here, Me and Scrappy named this Mushroom ridge- it was covered with 'em. Hardly a one in all the years since. |
Nobody at the Pond today. |
No, I didn't see Jesus or the devil in the clouds. Just thought it was neat. |
Meanwhile, at the swamp, the duck was asleep... |
...and the heron was patiently waiting for breakfast. |
Coming up on the turn towards the Duck Pond |
Ah, there's the kayakers whose truck was parked at the boat landing. |
In case I hadn't mentioned it, the Duck Pond isn't looking much more pond-y than the Swamp is swamp-y. |
This year, the ground hog sightings have been rare... |
