M10 show week 36

Elvis:  Hey, I got back from a week off, and I saw I wuz trendin'!

That's because three days ago was the anniversary of... well, your passing.

Well, that one'll bring down a room...

Not to worry, because I've got something in mind that'll make it a celebration of your life!  In the meantime, though...

Ah know, ah know, debut #1, right?

Yep, and at #10 we bring in M10 superstars Geowulf with their latest...

**************************************************

So whut's yer big celebration of me?

Keep your shirt on...

Too late...

Oh, nice!  So anyway, I went back down the timelines and found the #1 songs that were current in the big moments of your life- and it turned out pretty interesting!

Itsa 'bout me, of COURSE it's innersting!

All right, here's the first half of "#1s on the top ten days of Elvis's life!"

10-  The day he was born, January 8th, 1938- Fred Astaire and Nice Work If You Can Get It...

Ah see whut ya mean, that's kinda funny!

9- His first public performance, October 3rd, 1945 (yes, he was 7)- Till The End Of Time by Perry Como.  That was certainly prophetic...

8- The year he became a teenager- Jan. 8th, 1951, Patti Page and The Tennessee Waltz.

7- The release of his first single, That's All Right, back in July 19th, 1954- 3 Coins In The Fountain by the Four Aces...

An' that's about all I got outta that record, haw!

And 6- The legendary first performance on the Ed Sullivan Show, September 9th, 1956- Why, it was your Hound Dog!

O' course it wuz!  Now, here,s the next debut, at #9- a cat I always love ta hear, Dent May!

I just wanted to throw in, the other night I was telling Laurie I thought we were having a pretty good Songs of Summer '22 race, and wanted to see how it stacked up.  Well... there are currently 5 songs at or above the 50-point mark.  Pretty good when you figure that's as many that crossed that line the last 2 summers combined- but 2 other summers matched that, and one beat it.  Also, the current leader this year JUST pulled into an 8th place tie all time.  But, 3 weeks remain to see how they'll stack up in the end, and...

C'mon!  Food's on the way, an' I wanna see the rest of the list!

Well, I'm sure not going to make the mistake of saying, keep your pants on, so let's just continue....

5- The day you got drafted...

UGGH!

...March 24th, 1958- hee hee, it was the Champs and Tequila!

It shore wuz! 'Ceptin' Ah didn't never drink...

4- Oh, I love this one- the day you turned 21, January 8th, 1959- The Chipmunk Song!

ARRRGH!

3- The day you got married, May 1st, 1967- wait for it...

Oh, gawd...

The Monkees and A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You! Ha!

These are hittin' purdy close...

And 2- The year you turned 30...

Ya hadda bring THAT up...

... January 8th, 1968, The Beatles and Hello Goodbye...

Ya hadda bring THEM up!

I got one more to share, right after I give the M10:

8- Chicago, If This Isn't Love, up one...

7- Down one for Maddie and Tae's Every Night Every Morning...

6- Up one, Harry Styles and Late Night Talking, #12 on Billboard this week...

5- Up 3, Rubblebucket's Morning In The Sun...

4- Down 2, the current Billboard #3- and the #1 when Buz Luhrman's Elvis movie was released- Harry Styles an As It Was...

Ah hope that wasn't yer other one...

Nope, be patient!

3- Up one, Built To Spill's Spiderweb...

2- And falling from the top, Cannons and Bad Dream...

And the new #1....
