Wednesday and a chunk of thursday

So Wednesday was not our greatest day.  Tuesday, in the midst of the hottest day of the year, our AC's charge ran out.  Maintenance (and thanks, LaQuan and Derek), put in a porta-unit in our kitchen/dining area, so it was livable downstairs- not so much upstairs where Misty and I sleep.  About 230 we abandoned ship and slept on the couch.  About 615, I took Misty out to discover it had rained at some point, and cooled down- so we went back up, opened the window, and slept till about 8.  The day was marked out for busy- we were in the midst of getting our new lease signed, waiting for someone to come charge the AC, plus we had Stanley Steemer coming.  AND I had a doctor's appointment in the afternoon!  Before the festivities started, I took Misty to the Bark Park...

Just enough clouds to knock out the sun- for a while...

Doggies in the hood, no one coming by

Only big burst of energy came...

...when Goth Girl came out for a doggie poop

About then the cloud cover failed us...

"Time to go!"

Our leaving was interrupted by a blood-curdling scream, followed by crying.  Laquon was nearby, investigated the source, and left.  Wondering why, I looked at the apartment building (These are a series of four-apartment, 2 up, 2 down, with stairs up), and saw a person sitting about halfway down the stairs, head in hands, moaning.  Before we could get closer, the pulled themselves up, went back in their apartment and slammed the door.

Later, Derek showed up to charge the machine just before Stanley Steemer showed up.  Here's our before....

...and the after- best they could do with a heavily-abused, 12 year old carpet...

That night, after the festivities that we were ready to be done with were done, Misty and I saw the sunset sky...

And the festivities we did enjoy took off.  The last few nights, Laurie has been going down a list of music acts she never heard of, and I play their most-streamed.  I know several- one maybe by next week- will eventually appear on the M10 (since, as you know, the only rule is, "I've never heard it" before putting it in the shuffle).  I've been doing a five star system just for fun, and so far we've hit 7 5-stars, 20 4's, 32 3's, 20 2's, and 14 ones.  Stay tuned as I will let you know when the M10 gets one of these.  Meanwhile, tonight we'll finish the Fs (Stopped with 4 left so we could watch Gutfeld).

*********************************************

That brings us to this morning's walk...

Late start, 730, sun just up...Humid, but nothing but blue skies

They just did some mowing along the canal

Mr Crow was noisy as could be...

So colorful

I looked behind us, and noticed that as soon as the sun cleared the tree line, all the water on the ground had started rising...

For the first time all week, no Mr Stork at the Swamp

By the time we hit the river, it was completely overcast- it took like 5 minutes to go from nothing but blue to nothing but gray

Getting hard to find Misty a decent place to riverise...

But if I stand in a big bunch of weeds to get her there...

Working on the bridge.  Tuesday we saw a guy with a sensor of some sort in one hand, dragging a length of logchain on the concrete in the other

Froggie!

"Where'd you go?"

"Peek!"

By the time we hit the twisted wood, we were definitely in the gloaming

Holy cow!  Mist and overcast everywhere now

Now we know why he was so noisy- calling his buddies to breakfast

Home sweet home ahead!

    1. Then Misty peed on her foot and brought in some prints to win the "Who'll mess it up first" sweepstakes.
