Martin update and walk

Sorry the last few posts have been "regularly scheduled".  It's been too hot and humid to walk; last week at work was a real beating, both from the Enemy and his usual tricks and the work itself, in particular this fabric we call tricot.  Essentially, it was supposed to be a combo between regular black (actually a thin version) pressed onto some fuzzy white stuff that was supposed to take the place of our non-woven patch material (guess what?  We use five times the non-woven on this crap than anything else).  In a hurry to supply us, our Korean vendor ( we usually get it Chinese) decided not to wait and figure out how much fungicide to douse it with, so they soaked it- then wrapped it before it could dry.  First results were not good- it burned your hands and anything you touched with them.  We had to let the covers we cut before management finally agreed with me it was a problem- and tried to sew, before all the sewers started getting rashes- sit for a couple months before it was determined that once they dried, it was "safe".  I don't know about safe, but the rash isn't a factor, and the burning has gone away with drying, but it is still sticky- and stinky- to work with.  I wish I could tell you to look out for this stuff if you have a Triton boat, but I might get in trouble, so you didn't hear it here.

Anyway, today was reasonable (77F and 52% humidity) so we took a walk.  The only thing unreasonable is the car.  A few weeks back, as you recall, we had it serviced for an 'check engine' light (cracked gas cap) and the electricals on the dash going in and out (wire harness).  Yesterday, the electricals started up again.  My whole trip home, radio cuts out, digital displays go off, warning lights come on as if starting the car when they come back- oh, and of course, the "service traction control" light.  Sounds like someone will be doing a free fix.

Here's a couple of "Patio Pigs" shots before we left...

And on we go!

They've added these signs this season along our trail.  Guess the cross-country folk got tired of the chincy plastic stakes with numbers in marker that the mowers kept destroying.

Follow the yellow, er, flower road

We get to the woods, and the humidity spikes- as do the mosquitos....

And someone wasn't happy about it (note the photobomber on my cheek)

Little white butterfly followed- or lead- us all the way up Back Road

Now, someone is mad because all her drinking puddles are dried up.

About this time, at the highest incline on the trail, with all the skeeters having at last caught up to us, Laurie texted me to tell me a) she had zero problems going to work, b) she called the shop for an appointment, and c) she had to re-explain what happened last time because the dude who "fixed it" last time d) wrote next to nothing down, and e) was asked to find alternate employment.

I don't think Big Guy deals with skeeters...

Oh, this is new...

So we came out the north end, and I decided I'd give you the tour of the way home through the addition.  It starts like this...

Lotsa pretty yards- they have a monthly contest for best

And I'm happy because no more skeeters!

Now we're on the main drag home...

This is the other side of 'the Bowl' we live in.

Uh, dude, your supposed to read the door mat at the door, not from the street

And finally back home, greeted by our white tailed squirrel...
