Happy Boofus Day originated with Scrappy- I believe in 2014, but have had no luck finding the original... but I can attest that Scrappy has had them on March 2, 2015; March 8, 2016; May 7, 2017; and May 19, 2018. We had no doggie to celebrate most of 2019, but Misty has had them on September 22, 2020; September 16, 2021; and last year on May 14th. So how does Misty celebrate this year?
Why, she gets a trip to Bluecast Nature Preserve! A mere 14 mi from here to there, we arrived just shy of 7 AM...

Not far from the lovely wind farms on the Indiana-Ohio border...

So we had a choice of trails, and the first one...

...had raspberries about to flower...

...but other than that, it was a big, claustrophobic circle to nowhere. Did we come all this way...

...odd things popping up in my face...

...and blocked trails?

So we tried the other

Just missed the bunny running across here- the fun was about to start!

I was in awe of the beautiful scenery...

The high bluffs were slowly falling towards Bull Rapids Creek

At this point, we should have backtracked to an earlier branch...

After crossing a trail with nettles on either side, we came to a blind overlooking a harvested field.

Right about the time we got back on track, Misty froze. Took me a sec, but...

Speaking of said steed, we went to compare the ungodly seemingly too-high estimate on her brake job at another place, and were quoted close to $400 cheaper. Locals, go to Eds Car Care Center on North Clinton...
After a good deal of napping, it was time for round two...
